Paul Polizzotto, president and founder of CBS EcoMedia, accepted the General H. Norman Schwarzkopf Leadership Award on behalf of his company and the CBS Corporation at Starlight Awards on Oct. 23, 2014 in Los Angeles.
CBS EcoMedia was founded in 2002 and was acquired by CBS in 2010 to further its mission: to harness the power of advertising to improve the quality of people’s lives. EcoMedia’s business model leverages ad buys to not only help CBS advertisers more efficiently achieve multiple business objectives, but to also provide the funding needed by the nation’s premier non-profits to accomplish positive social change in the communities CBS serves.
Since 2002, EcoMedia’s unique public-private partnership business model has directed millions of dollars from corporate advertising budgets to nutritious meals and scholarships for school children, solar panel installations at schools and community centers, veterans services, urban reforestation, lighting and energy efficiency retrofits on low-income housing, clean urban waterways, mobile health clinics, organic gardens, distribution of new books and school supplies, literacy programs, and much more.
“The life-changing impact that Starlight Children’s Foundation makes on kids and families around the nation, and all across the globe is profound,” said Polizzotto. “Thanks to the financial support provided by our advertising partners through our WellnessAd program, we’re able to help Starlight advance their mission and deliver quality programs that improve the hospital experience for seriously ill children and their families in communities across the nation.”
